The best way to spend a solo getaway in Whistler

It has been 11 months since I slept in past 7 am and chasing after a very mobile baby is exhausting  – momma needed a little break and so I packed up my bags for a solo night away in Whistler.

Whistler is the perfect destination when you just need a little escape. Whether it is a family trip, girls getaway, couples date night, or just a solo trip, this place truly has something for everyone – but this was my first time exploring on my own.

I stayed at the Tyndall Stone Lodge, part of the Whiski Jack Resorts. I have wanted to work with Whiski Jack Resorts for a while now because they know Whistler better than any other property management. They are a local organization that really help you find the right property for you and your needs – in fact on their website you can narrow down features that are important to you – like ski in/out for winter or a hot tub (for the post ski day). The Tyndall Stone Lodge was absolutely perfect for my night away.

What I noticed right away was the coziness of the space. The living area had a little fire place, there was a full kitchen, two bed rooms (with the comfiest beds ever) and a patio that overlooked the village. (right in the heart of it all by the skating rink, park, and lots of shops).  It is the perfect space for families – but tonight it was all about me.

Stop #1 The Scandiave Spa

Since this night was all about some R&R my first stop was to the Scandinave Spa. If you have never been to the spa before it is a must visit. It is right in the heart of the old growth forest with the gorgeous Whistler mountains in the backdrop. The spa is digital free and is complete silence so you can just focus on your detox journey. You then go through hydrotherapy, transitioning from hot to cold installations and relaxation areas.

Stop #2: A solo dinner date

My favourite restaurant in the world is located right in Whistler Village – I absolutely love Sushi Village. This was actually the 6th restaurant in Whistler and has stood the test of time. The sushi is delicious and the have some very creative cocktails – like the Sake Margaritas. I sat at the chef’s table so I could watch the amazing chefs in the kitchen do their thing.

Stop #3 FireRock lounge for live music

I love love the cozy atmosphere at FireRock lounge. It is a smaller space and feels like a cabin in the woods and most nights they have live music so you can jam out with a delicious cocktail by the fire place

That wrapped up my evening out. I made my way back to the Tyndall Lodge for an early night in a comfy bed that I didn’t have to share with anyone for the first time in a very long time.

I cannot recommend an escape to Whistler enough – whether you decided to go with the whole family or just by yourself (especially now that the resort is opening up for the season). And the best part is – Whiski Jack Resorts has some great deals going on right now.

Happy traveling my friends,

xo

Mia
